The REC of Grapevine
Grapevine Texas, 76051 Get Directions
The REC is a crown jewel of the Grapevine Parks and Recreation Department, and it’s not hard to see why. Where you begin is up to you. Want to get in shape? Start in the more than 7,000 square feet of fitness rooms, which include weight machines, treadmills, stair climbers, bikes, elliptical machines, dumbbells, and regulation size basketball and racquetball courts so you can build muscle and lose weight no matter how you like to do it.
Need help getting fit? The REC has personal trainers, too. If swimming’s more your style, you can go to the indoor family aquatic center with slides, a lazy river, lap lanes, and play structures. Be sure to watch for special holiday events at the aquatic center that include the whole family. Want to take a class? The REC offers classes for preschool through senior adults including martial arts, fitness, art, dance, theater, gymnastics, specialty camps, yoga, crafts, pools, aquatics, and many more.
There is even ballroom dancing and painting classes for adults if you’re looking for a regular date night and tired of dinner and a movie. Got kids? There’s an amazing indoor children’s themed playground, 10 family changing rooms, and on-site child watch. When it’s time to relax, you’ll find TVs with video games and cartoons, a breakfast and lunch area, lounge areas throughout, community learning rooms with computers and floor-to-ceiling windows, and new events rooms with a kitchen.
Perhaps the best part of the REC is the sense of community–kids and adults are always playing at the ping pong tables and in the computer lobby area after school while seniors are sipping coffee in the lounge in the morning. The REC offers lots of incredibly affordable annual passes for individuals and families to meet your needs for fun and fitness whether you like staying dry, getting wet, going it alone or bringing the whole crew. You can even rent portions of the facility for graduation parties, baby showers, rehearsal dinners, weddings, birthday parties or meetings.
