We offer three different class types to best fit your and/or your child’s learning style.
Registration for January Swim Lessons at The REC Aquatic Center will open at 9:00 am on Sunday, December 15.
From January to April, swim lesson sessions are eight, 30 minute classes over four consecutive weeks on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Private lesson sessions are four, 30 minute classes over four consecutive weeks on Tuesdays OR Thursdays. We also offer Saturday classes that meet once a week for eight weeks.
Swim lessons are held:
Tuesday/Thursday 5:00 – 7:50 pm
Saturdays 9:00 – 10:40 am
The REC Aquatic Center 1175 Municipal Way
This class is for children ages 18-35 months old. Skills covered include: water adjustment, submerge face and bubbles and floats, kicks and arm strokes.
This class is for children ages 3-5 years old. Skills covered include: submerging the face, floats, kicks, arm strokes, breath control, and gliding.
This class is for children ages 5-8 years old. Skills covered include: front crawl 5 feet, front glide 5 feet, back glide 5 feet, and front float 5 seconds.
This class is for children ages 6-9 years old. Skills covered include: front glide 10 feet, back glide 10 feet, back float 10 seconds, swim front crawl 10 feet.
This class is for children ages 6-12 years old. Skill covered include: front crawl and backstroke 15 yards, and elementary backstroke and breaststroke kick 15 yards.
This class is for children ages 7+ years. Skills covered include: front crawl 25 yards, backstroke, breaststroke, and butterfly 15 yards.
This class is for children ages 8+ years. Skills covered include: front crawl and backstroke 50 yards and breaststroke, and butterfly 25 yards.
