January’s ECO Talk will include two topics. City staff will be introducing the G.R.O.W Initiative a new, comprehensive program designed to educate and support Grapevine residents who are interested in incorporating native and sustainable landscapes into their yards successfully by ensuring these planted areas are smartly planned, sustainable, well-maintained, and aligned with community expectations.

Finally, Carol Clark, Master Gardener, will cover the benefits of native plants. Native plants support a healthy, functioning ecosystem that includes birds, bugs, wildlife and pollinators of all kinds. You’ll also hear about some surprising ways that non-native plants can modify ecosystems to their own benefit and to the detriment of local plants and animals.
