Studio Art House

A new series of adaptive art classes starting this summer! Hosted by Studio Art House, these classes are designed specifically for adults with special needs, providing a welcoming and supportive environment for creativity and self-expression. Watercolor – Discover the calming beauty of watercolor painting while learning blending and layering techniques. Sculpture – Explore hands-on creativity with various materials to mold, carve, and bring your 3D art ideas to life. Drawing – Develop your artistic skills by learning the basics of lines, shapes, and shading in a friendly, encouraging setting. Acrylic Painting – Experiment with bold colors, textures, and brush techniques to express yourself in a fun and relaxing class. These classes are a great way to build confidence, meet others, and enjoy the process of creating art in a stress-free, inclusive environment.

Adaptive Fusion Dance by Jasmine's Beat

Offered by Jasmine's Beat, this class fuses a variety of dance styles, techniques, and music, all while promoting inclusivity for dancers of all abilities. Whether you use a wheelchair, need movement modifications, or benefit from mental breaks, this class is thoughtfully designed to support and celebrate you. Adaptive Fusion Dance provides a welcoming and joyful environment where everyone can move in a way that feels right for them. We’d be thrilled to have you join us for this exciting new experience!

Abilities on Stage

This Performance Art program aims to IGNITE creativity, build confidence, and foster a supportive and inclusive community where adults with special needs can shine brightly on stage and beyond. We invite participants to embrace their talents, celebrate their uniqueness, and discover the transformative power of the performing arts through creative exploration, skill development, collaborative projects, and inclusive performances. The curriculum will include dance and movement, script reading, singing and costume creation.

Special Strong

Special Strong focuses on functional training, movements that enhance the ability to conduct activities of daily living. Mats, bands, balls, cones, and steps are common elements used in our program design. Balance, agility, coordination, proprioception, muscle endurance, posture, and neuro fitness challenges are all part of the program design

Warrior Adaptive Training

Through the Adaptive Warrior Training Program, adults with special needs will be empowered to embrace their inner warrior and overcome challenges that will help them to become more active and physically fit. The workouts will improve their coordination, balance, endurance, strength, flexibility and also their mood. With the aim to cultivate strength, resilience, and confidence in every participant, while improving their quality of life, the IGNITE team will motivate each participant to reach their full potential.

Special Touch Art Class

Designed for adults with special needs, this art class explores different subjects and mediums to fit each individual's expression and abilities.

IGNITE Cooking Club

This adaptive cooking class is designed for adults with intellectual disabilities. Participants will learn basic cooking skills and simple recipes to make them more independent in the kitchen, as well as kitchen safety, and social skills.

T.H.R.I.V.E. Adaptive Program

Thriving Home Resourceful Integration and Vocational Education (T.H.R.I.V.E.) is a program designed to teach higher functioning adults with special needs the basic skills needed to be more independent in the community and those that are necessary to function successfully at home and in the workplace. Tailored to each individual’s abilities and interests, our program offers a supportive and inclusive environment where participants can thrive. The program will focus on life skills such as home and safety, money and time management, self-care, nutrition, mindfulness, and social and leisure skills. Local community outing within walking distance of The Rec of Grapevine and those that can be accessed by TEXRail will be added to the curriculum for additional learning opportunities.
